Montessori in Contemporary Culture

The American Montessori Society (AMS) invited Montessori scholars and experts to bring clarity and insights into how Montessori education is shaping and being shaped by the modern world. The result is a compilation of new peer-reviewed research-based content in a new book titled, Montessori in Contemporary Culture. The book will serve as a valuable resource for educators, and highlight the impact of Montessori principles more than 115 years after their initial introduction in 1907 and over 60 years after the founding of AMS.

PMAI was invited to contribute a chapter for the book. PMAI’s Genevieve D’Cruz, PhD, and Elizabeth Slade, MFA, co-wrote chapter 4, titled, Access and Full Implementation: Challenges and Opportunities in Public Montessori.

This chapter in Montessori in Contemporary Culture delves into the opportunities and challenges of implementing Montessori in public schools. It’s time to expand access to high-quality Montessori education for all!

The book will be available on Friday, September 27, 2024
