FORUMS
Forums provide a place for people from Montessori schools around the world to grow stronger together, creating a community of practice. They remind us that we are not alone in this work and that together we rise.
As prepared adults there must be opportunities for observation, reflection and honest talk. We need to invest time in topics that are new to us in order to grow. Forums create designated time for just that.
Our forums are virtual, bi-weekly gatherings for skill development and shop talk: an opportunity to connect with and learn from those doing similar work. Through the community of practice there is an animation and interconnection that returns participants to their work fortified.
Each of these forums connects to a professional development experience and provides a place for practitioners to deepen their understanding and strengthen their use and implementation of the new learning.
Exploring Equity Forum
The Exploring Equity Forum is a place to lean into the topic of equity and its central role in our work as Montessori educators. From implicit bias to systemic racism, this will be a place for courageous conversations in service of the children and adults in your community. Meet bi-weekly on virtual calls throughout the school year in small groups to learn, discuss, reflect and grow.
This forum will be led by Allison Jones.
New World Forum
The New World Forum offers on-going support for teachers. Virtual Learning Lessons are a new element of our work as a result of the world pandemic, and this Forum offers an opportunity to grow your skills. Meet with a seasoned Montessori educator who has figured out ways to connect with their students and move their learning while giving lessons virtually. This Forum can be taken as a follow up to the three-session course or separately. The group meets bi-weekly on virtual calls from August - December.
This forum will be led by Melissa McClain and Elizabeth Slade.
Nautilus Forum
The Nautilus Forum is designed to support Nautilus Leads’ implementation of the approach at their school. This community of practice allows Leads to find connection, share resources, and discuss arising issues with others who are also new to the Nautilus Approach, as well as gain insight, skills and tools from the facilitators.
This forum will be led by Genevieve D’Cruz or Kisha Young.
Coaches’
Forum
The Coaches’ Forum, offered to those who have been trained as Montessori coaches, is a time to refine and deepen the work. Small groups of coaches meet bi-weekly on virtual calls throughout the school years to build skills, add tools, reflect and learn new techniques.
This forum will be led by Michelle Boyle or Elizabeth Slade.
Stewards’ Forum
The Stewards’ Forum is an opportunity for school leaders to come together with others to discuss the unique elements of leading a public Montessori school. These facilitated gatherings meet biweekly on-line to support and further school leadership.
This forum will be led by Michelle Boyle or Elizabeth Slade.
