Amelia Allen Sherwood is a mother, educator, and anti-bias & anti-racist organizer. She currently works at Elm City Montessori School in New Haven, Ct.as the Anti-Bias & Anti-Racism Director. She has a vision to one day open an African-Centered learning space that centers around Black children. It is her hope that Sankofa Learning Center can be a high-quality early childhood program that uses Montessori pedagogy as a tool, includes a Black Homeschooling Collective, and also acts as a healing hub for the community.
