Expand your understanding of what it means to coach Montessori educators

"There exists only one real biological manifestation: the living individual; and toward single individuals, one by one observed, education must direct itself." - Maria Montessori, Discovery of the Child.

The Montessori Coaching Course
brings Montessori to the whole school.

Just as Montessori teachers receive training in order to reach all children, so do Montessori coaches. As part of the prepared environment of the Montessori school, adults are an invaluable component of a thriving school: their time, energy, gifts, skills, and commitment define the experience and outcomes for children. Much of this rests in the adults' ability to know and understand their role as a Montessori educator and to embrace the ever-evolving sense of themselves in that work.

This 18-hour professional development course focuses on the needs of adults working in Montessori schools and provides specific ways for leaders, trainers, and coaches to support them. The Montessori coach is the person in the school with a background as a Montessori educator who is now working to support the school-based adults through embedded professional development. Their work brings the school into balance, based on the coherence of One School, the opportunity for Honest Talk, and the infrastructure created through Strong Systems.

“Excellent course for all Montessori School leaders and human resource personnel.”

“You may have studied the Montessori Method and applied it with the children. But this is the very first structured, clear way to apply the Montessori philosophy to your school/organization with other adults, colleagues, and families.”

This course will revolutionize your perspective on professional development

and underscore the importance of supporting all Montessori educators.

The live, online training will be led by Elizabeth Slade, a Montessori educator for over 35 years and the Executive Director of PMAI. After a decade of implementing coaching in Public Montessori schools, Elizabeth created the original Montessori coaching course, and has spent the last decade training coaches nationally and internationally.

Continually updated with the latest insights from neuroscience, social psychology, and coaching, this course offers a comprehensive foundation ready for immediate use in schools, facilitating the seamless implementation of Montessori principles across diverse program types.

“I found the Montessori Coaching course to be extremely valuable and a wonderful next step in advancing my Montessori practice.”

“Elizabeth is a master of her craft and very generous and reassuring with all types of learners. I appreciated that there was both review of concepts along with new information we could practice with the international participants. I will take what I have learned into my work going forward. Thank you!”
