This workshop is for all elementary guides with a focus on those working to fully implement the method.

"The child gives us a beautiful lesson – that in order to form and maintain our intelligence, we must use our hands." - Dr. Maria Montessori

A unique approach to educating children in the second plane of development.

Implementing strong Montessori is our goal and in order to do this well it is important to have a holistic view of the essential aspects as well as a fluency with the parts. Montessori for the elementary child offers a vast curriculum and a complex intersection of components that create the magic of the classroom.

In addition, Elementary Montessori is a unique approach to educating children in the second plane of development that coincides with high-stake testing years for public Montessori schools. Strong implementation at this level is essential to ensuring positive outcomes.

This workshop is for all elementary guides with a focus on those working to fully implement the method. It offers a variety of systems and tools to support collaboration with children towards owning their own learning. Based on the concept of freedom and responsibility it provides guidance for how to achieve balance in the elementary classroom.

Created to support both new and seasoned teachers, this workshop will aid the elementary guide in establishing community cooperation to create a foundation for experiencing the integrated curriculum Dr. Montessori envisioned.

“This is a great and focused workshop that both well-trained Montessorians and beginners will be able to get something out of. Highly recommended as either a refresher or an intro course for those involved with Lower Elementary.”

Strong Systems are a necessary component to strong Montessori implementation. This session provides an overview of the three types of work in the elementary classroom and provides the guide with support in using the work journal to create classroom systems.

Continually updated with the latest insights and experiences from educators in the classroom, this course offers tools and systems ready for immediate use in Montessori schools.

“I really enjoyed this course. I loved that it pointed out why observation is so important.

So many teachers skip observation or just skim, but we need to make it a habit! And the ideas for work systems were amazing and so easy to do! I took away so much useful info from this course.”

What do we know and do in Montessori classrooms to spark children’s inner motivation to follow their most natural instinct to learn?
