Online Course Registration, Cancellation, and Refund Policy

Public Montessori in Action International (PMAI) is committed to providing high-quality professional learning experiences that strengthen Montessori practice in service of children, families, and educators. As a nonprofit organization, our programs rely on participant enrollment to support instructors, technology, materials, facilities, and administrative costs. This policy is intended to balance flexibility for participants with responsible stewardship of our nonprofit resources.

Registration and Payment

Registration is confirmed upon receipt of full payment, receipt of a signed contract, an approved purchase order, or other written payment arrangement accepted by PMAI.

Enrollment is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and may be limited.

Course Cancellation

All PMAI courses, forums, and other professional learning events are subject to minimum enrollment requirements.

PMAI reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine, or otherwise modify a program due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including instructor illness, facility issues, severe weather, or other unforeseen events.

Whenever possible, participants will be notified at least seven (7) days before the scheduled start date if a program will not proceed as planned. If PMAI cancels a program, participants may choose one of the following:

  • A full refund of all registration fees paid;

  • Transfer to a future offering of the same program; or

  • Apply their registration fee as a credit toward another PMAI professional learning opportunity.

Participant Cancellation

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email.

More than 30 days before the program begins

  • Receive a full refund less a 2.9% processing fee; or

  • Transfer registration fee to another PMAI course offered within the following twelve (12) months at no additional charge.

15–30 days before the program begins

  • Receive a 90% refund; or

  • Transfer registration fee to another PMAI course offered within twelve (12) months.

14-8 days before the program begins

  • Receive a 50% refund; or

  • Transfer registration fee to another PMAI course offered within twelve (12) months.

7 or fewer before the program begins 

  • Registration fees are non-refundable.

  • With prior approval from PMAI, registration may be transferred to another participant from the same school or organization.

After a Program Begins

Participants who are unable to complete a program due to serious illness, family emergency, or other extenuating circumstances are encouraged to contact PMAI. Participants may enroll in the next course in order to complete the program. 

Program Transfers

Transfers to another participant or another scheduled offering must be requested in writing.

Unless otherwise stated, course credits must be used within twelve (12) months of the original program date.

Changes to Programs

PMAI reserves the right to modify instructors, schedules, course delivery methods, or program format—including converting an in-person event to an online format—when necessary to ensure the successful delivery of the program.

Such changes do not constitute grounds for a refund.

Self-Paced Online Courses and Digital Resources

Participants receive immediate access to self-paced online courses and downloadable resources upon enrollment or purchase. Therefore, registration fees for these offerings are non-refundable.

Attendance and Certificates

Certificates of completion, continuing education documentation, or other recognition of participation will be issued only to participants who satisfy the attendance and participation requirements established for the specific program.

No refunds or partial refunds will be issued for missed sessions or incomplete participation.

Exceptional Circumstances

PMAI recognizes that unforeseen circumstances sometimes arise. Requests for exceptions to this policy may be made and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Any exception is granted at the discretion of PMAI and should not be interpreted as establishing a precedent for future requests.
